Sybil Smith was born on September 28, 1948, in Georgetown, Guyana. She was the only child. She attended the University of London in Georgetown Guyana. She received her associate degree in phlebotomy. At an early age she began to work as a secretary for the Federal Reserve Bank of New York. For over twenty years, she also worked for the New York State Dormitory Authority.
She migrated to the United States in 1973 to create and make a sustainable life for herself and eventually for her mother and son. She lived a life of peace, contentment, and grace. She traveled the pilgrim’s journey even in adverse circumstances of life struggles and challenges but endured because of her faith in God.
For several years, she attended the Brooklyn Tabernacle with her mother and son. As a believer in Jesus Christ, she was rooted and grounded in her faith and inspired many others by her good deeds of practicing love and compassion for families and friends.
Sybil was truly blessed and to have gain family and friends that cherished and loved her unconditionally is an accomplishment. Her surviving family members that she bequeaths is her only child Derwin; daughter-in-law Lakeyshia; grand children Nathaniel, Zion, Trinity, Messiah, Judah, and Great grandchild Josiah.
Sybil Smith ascended from this world on September 29, 2022, at the age of 74 and she will be greatly missed.
