Jerome C. Holland was born on November 26, 1961 to the late Jesse.and
Lena Mae Holland in Newark, New Jersey. He was the youngest boy of
the eight children.
Jerome's early education was obtained at Essex Catholic For Boys in
Newark, NJ. He went on to receive a full scholarship from Kean
University for basketball. There he decided to major in Accounting. Upon
completion of his education, he began a job with the Design and
Construction Department at Newark Public Schools Board of Education.
It wasn't long after being there that his inquisitiveness lead him to begin to
question the field assignments of his coworkers. He quickly learned that
they were Computer Technicians. From that curiosity he decided to return
to school to complete multiple certifications to become a Computer
Technician Specialist. However he didn't stop there, Jerome became self
taught in repairing and rebuilding of computers. This was not only his
career but his passion. Anyone with a computer and his telephone number
knew who to call for technical support at any time. Just don't call him
during Basketball or Wrestling though, he would have to call you back
later. Jerome was always into the latest and greatest gadgets. To know him
is to understand any conversation about gadgets would be followed by a
gadget gift or a call to update you about it when you least expect it.
In 1994 Jerome and Lena met at the elevator of the State Building on
Halsey Street where they both worked. However their love story didn't
officially begin until 1996. At that time their "Love Language" was caring
for their ailing moms. Bonding over their loving and caring natures,
Jerome and Lena became inseparable. On July 19, 1999 Jerome proposed
to Lena at her desk. They were married on March 3, 2000. Into this loving
union their son Jerome R Holland was born on January 26, 2004.
Although they only had one biological child, Jerome was an uncle-dad to
many. He shared a very special bond with nephews Christopher, Matthew,
Marquis and Zakhi.
Jerome will be greeted at the gates of heaven by his parents the late Jesse
and Lena Mae Holland, and siblings Doris, Delphinium, David and
Jerome leaves to cherish many memories with his wife Lena Michele
