David Joe Graham was born May 21, 1953 and departed on January 14, 2023 surrounded by love. David spent his youth in various parts of the south, eventually settling in Jersey City, NJ. David was the only child of Joe Graham and Clara Graham.
David attended Lincoln High School and served in United States Army before receiving an honorable discharge on September 9,1976. During this time David met his 1st love, Linda who he married on July 17, 1976. David worked various jobs as a laborer. He retired from the United States Postal Service in 2018. Following his retirement David fought with various illnesses. The illnesses weaken his body, but not his spirit. His no nonsense, prideful demeanor was present up until his last breath. David definitely did things, his way.
David was a devoted father, loving Grandpa/Pop-pop, friend and true blue Giants Fan. Sundays were for football, no matter how many times the Giants loss. But, when they won his friends, son, grandsons, son-in-laws all got the call where we would bragged incessantly.
David’s legacy of love includes Linda Graham and Judy English who both preceded him in death. From these unions David fathered 5 girls and one son.
Tea Graham, Tangela Morrison, Tamika Stamers, LaWanda Graham, Latisha Graham and David English, the golden boy. He gained 2 additional sons through marriage James Morrison and Lyndon Stamers. His impact on the lives of his 2 bonus girls Latisha Benthall and Crystal Privette was sacred. But he’s legacy doesn’t stop there he loved all his grandchildren and supported them any chance he could. They are Jermere Graham, Linda “Jazzy” Graham, Eunique Graham, Jahkeem Graham, Salina Graham, James Morrison, D’Andre Wright, Tia Graham, Saniyah Nickerson, Nyla Brown, Phoenix Morrison, Aiden Graham, Tiffiney Ross, and Davion English. His love extended to his 15 great-grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Dave as he was sometimes called will be missed tremendously. His laughter, snide remarks and bad dancing are the memories that will be celebrated.
