Daniel Mason, affectionately known as “Danny," was born on June 1, 1971, to Daniel Johnson and Jackie Mason at the Martland Hospital in Newark, NJ. After a long but courageous battle with cancer, he departed his life on October 5, 2022, at Saint Barnabas Hospital in Livingston, NJ.
Danny spent his early years in Baltimore, Maryland from 1971 to 1973. He relocated back to New Jersey where he resided with his mother in the city of East Orange. There, he was educated through the East Orange Public School System. During his childhood, he developed hobbies that stuck for life. The first being making money and the second, his love for speed.
Danny was employed with several sanitation companies throughout his life. He devotedly loved his work. He worked 6 days out of the week and would barely ever call out. He continued this through the earlier and middle stages of his sickness. He worked with companies such as Ace and Action with his son Kylin. Before departing his life, he worked at Roselle Sanitation in Fairfield, NJ.
Danny had a love for fast cars and motorcycles. His most pride possession was his TrackHawk. He was self-taught rider and enjoyed riding his bike, especially on the Interstate 280. He held the status of being an Elite rider of the Wolfpacks. His love for motorcycles reflected in his talent in which they named him the “King of the Highway.” In his pastime, you could always find him riding with his brothers and sisters of the Soul Survivors.
Danny was a funny guy. He would be the one you would go to if you needed a good laugh. Through his jokes, he was also real. He never sugarcoated anything and would tell you everything you needed to know. He was chill and laidback and most importantly, he was loved.
Danny leaves to cherish his mother Jackie Mason, brother Ka’Shawn Mason, his longtime companion Kisha Nickles, 5 children Kylin Tims, Kierra Tims, Brielle Mason, Zainis Mason and Aminah Mason, 3 grandchildren, Amoriel Tims, Xari and Briyanni Mason.
