Mahalia’s Life Story Our precious Mahalia was welcomed into the loving hearts of her dear parents Beulah Robinson Carter (1911- 2000) and Jesse Carter (1909-1944) on Saturday, June 26, 1937. She was born at home in Buffalo-Union County, South Carolina, delivered in birth by her maternal grandfather’s sister, Aunt Sally. Joseph Kevin Goodwin, the son of Elizabeth G. Belle, was born on January 4 th , 1964 in Jersey City, NJ. He entered into eternal rest on March 20, 2024 As a young boy, Joseph better known as Kevin moved to Bamberg, SC to live with his grandmother after the passing of his grandfather.
